Hi Steve,

I use a coleman "PEAK ONE"

small and light petrol stove which lasts for ages so I dont need to take loads of spare petrol,

If I`m doing a single night I use a simple small calor gas stove about 10pounds from the army and navy store or a couple of pound from a car boot.

Not had a problem with either although I`ve been told that you need to keep the jets clean in the peak one,

I've tried several different stoves both gas and petrol and there is as yet nothing that boils a kettle faster than a Coleman..

I just bought two secondhand petrol Colemans from Ray Rogers, having borrowed a mate's one before. They boil a kettle in no time biggrin.gif

Hi Steve,

Ditto the above.

I have this season converted from gas to the Coleman Peak stove, and have not been dissapointed, there is also the "Sportster" which has a wider base (the Peak has fold out legs) which I believe puts out more heat.

They take a bit of getting used to, but worth the effort.

If you wamt to go the whole hog, there is the Coleman double burner, which a chum of mine swears by.

Coleman Sportster for me.

Not too heavy, bombproof, works in a hurricane (believe me, I KNOW...), and cheap as chips from the likes of Argos and Index.

And there is nothing - NOTHING - better (in a purely fishing-type hot beverage sort of way) than freshly brewed tea.

Even on short range day trips, it's a rare day when one of my little mob don't have a Coleman stove tucked away somewhere...

Likewise Keith, I very rarely take the flask these days, even for day trips.

You just cannot beat a good ol' cuppa char.. smile.gif
