I believe I will pass on the haggis, however.

You won't have missed much as you'll be offered only frozen haggis at this time of year as they hibernate in the winter. ;)

Best site I've seen about the hibernation of the haggis is at http://www.kebriggs.com/haggis/hunts.html. Severus will just have missed the traditional haggis hunts on Burns Night ( January 25th) that celebrates Scotland's most famous poet.

Methinks I should get me hip-boots, I'm being bool-shite-ed.

This morning I had a coot (good) breakfast, according to my waitress. Took me a moment to realize she wasn't talking about waterfowl.

Well, farewell to Lancashire and Yorkshire, hello Edinburgh. So close and yet the accents are worlds apart, at least from this Yankee's perspective. What lovely country on the journey here. And am enjoying the sightseeing and experimenting with various foods.

I believe I will pass on the haggis, however.

If you get to Oban, have a haggis and chips from the Fish and Chip Shop on George Street.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Well, I tried the haggis and found it at least edible. Reminded me of corned beef hash, my friend Fred thought it delicious.

Back in London now, headed for Chicago tomorrow. Adios!
