He only stopped at my bivvy and his first question was can I see both of your rod licences. This confirms by previous suspiscions. They see 3 rod anglers as easy targets.

I have been on waters where they have walked past loads of anglers and just go from one 3 rod set up to another. I assume a number of people are tempted to sneak out an extra rod.

Stephen

Hey John mate,

How did you get on< any signs of the bream?

Were you near the pilions? Just on my way up to Hunstanton in the motorhome I saw someone bivvie'd up on the tem mile bank side... I was on the A10

Friday evening forum starting mid March 2012. Come in for a coffee, and a chat, or advice. We'll be talking rigs, tactics, venues, and anything else fishing related. Heiniken say's, probably one of the best stocked shops in east anglia... Match, sea, fly, carp, specimum. If we ain't got it, we'll get it. Look for the new Frank Warrich gel baits coming soon...

I think if they do have to use their limited manpower/time/resources (as they are allways telling us that's the problem) selectively then it makes sense they target three rod guys (as its such a prevalent offence) to raise their number of "captures" and therefore recover their "outlay" via fines................

Trouble is (and I dont give a hoot in this case about whats fair or "victimisation"/"discrimination" etc) I personally feel that there will be just as many (if not more) single rod/casual/pleasure anglers with out a licence full stop as there are people sneaking an extra rod on the one. I personally feel more animosity to the guy with NO licence that the one who has at least one.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Hi Steve no I was beyond modney bridge.

I thought you were off to new forest.

I had 2 proper bream but as you know they are much smaller than stillwater fish.

I was actually after zander overnight but thats another story.

Fens drain thread has a pic of the little bream.

And its only a tax so why should we pay per rod.

We don't take up any more bank.

Unless of course we break the 3m rule by the odd 200 yards. :D

Hi Hawk

A. I did not see anything dangling

and B. You do lower the tone somewhat.

John :D

What me maaaaaaaaaaad

You must be ducking silly

I saw the one eyed one legged black toothed girl last night and I invited her into my bivvy for supper.

She is really something. :o

I was bivvied up on the bank from friday about 2pm until today about 1pm and what a relaxing experience it was. This is why I do what i do. I can fish for 48 hours judge whats happening fish accordingly and come home with lower blood pressure.

I also see some fantastic wildlife including last night at about 8pm. Pitch dark setting my bite alarm so knealing very close to water when an horrendous splash ocurs within about ten feet of me.

Had to be an otter but will he understand my shout of what the duck was that. I think not.

The barn owl nearly landed on my head last night at last light and first light today nearly did the same. Those that ridicule anglers like me that sleep stay and enjoy being on the bank fishing for long periods are missing something really special.

CUFFS!

The thought of him walking round a place like Darenth in Maidstone in the summer with those cuffs dangling beggars belief. It would be very entertaining that is for sure...LOL

The thought of a bailiff being without a baton and a set of cuffs (dangling or otherwise) on the West Cumbria rivers system up until recently would have ''beggared belief'' (as you put it).

I agree Mate, I once did 9 nights and loved every 'God given minute'...

On the subject of ladies, have yopu ever seen the 'Lady in Red' up the top end of Ardleigh? I've not, but many have, especially up near dead lane...
