Hypertufa

Not sure how many are familiar with this stuff. I just stumbled on it today. Supposed to be excellent for making fairly lightweight "fake rock" items and certainly not expensive.

Portland cement

sand or perlite (depending on how light weight you need it)

Peat Moss - sifted to remove sticks and large stuff

Fibermesh (product designed to strengthen concrete and needed if you are doing thin wall containers and need the reinforcing)

The finished item looks like it is made of stone.

If you want more info just do a search for hypertufa and you'll find tons of great articles.

Been out for years mate,

Best use is covering something else ie old plastic pot or belfast sink.

One of it's advantages is that it ages very quickly so it will look old within 12 months.

if you cover the newly coated pot with yoghurt it "ages" far quicker especially under a tree or the north side of a wall :)
