Just wait until I see the *astard.

My fishes in the pond were happy chasing each other round the pond the other day with one thing on their minds.

Now they ain't cos I think they is Heron breakfast.

Either that or they have gone walkabouts.

None to be seen, gone, they is no more.

Not necessarily Heron my friend.

Cats are on the prowl .. Magpies are an absolute menace if your fish are smallish .. No footprints round the pond .. are there ??

The Older I get .. The better I was.

It's a raised pool and I have seen the Heron in the past.

Cats stay away from my garden.

Not seen a magpie in my garden in the ten years I've lived here.

They are about but not near.

No footprints, got pebbles around the pond.

Guns are no problem, it's catching the early bird that's the problem.

Looks like it's gonna be horrible netting to cure the problem.

Herons will not land in water, they always walk to the edge of the water. They cannot bend their legs to walk over objects about 12" high. Two rows of mono 12" above ground level one about 12" back from the pond and the second 12" behind will stop a heron in his tracks. I used some alloy green canes which blend in well with the plants and are very rigid so the mono is tightly stretched in between the canes.

Used it for three plus years now without a problem.

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM
