thats totally and utterly wrong. i suppose everyone who fishes is prone to attacks like that, especially the younger anglers, such as myself, because people think we cannot do anything back to them

im puting money on 1. i feel so sorry for the kid, 18 months of saving to have it stolen. i hope they catch these people and give them some hard time next to some big gay guy.

What a terrible story. I hope the poor boy (14 for f***'s sake) doesn't get put off angling.

 

It would be great if local tackle shops or anglers could kit him out with some new kit.

If it's anything like where I live, the local paper will get hold of it and he'll have his tackle replaced in no time. I bet the poor kid will be scared to use it, though, unless he goes with an adult or a gang of mates in future.

Scum of the earth, when kids try and get out and do something productive this is how they are treated.

A 14 year old boy mugged by THREE MEN, they are nothing but cowardly lowlife scum, and i hope they all get cancer of the **** and it falls off. :mad:

Or somebody trustworthy could set up a paypal account where people of the angling community could each put a small amount in, and get him kitted out again.

 

Maybe someone in his area would take him on a couple of trips to build his confidence back up.

I too am absolutely disgusted and have emailed the BBC to see if I can donate some tackle to this poor unfortunate individual. I will keep you informed of any contact details and if you would like to donate then I am sure we can sort something out
