Admirable suggestion. I doubt if the beeb will take the time to help though. If anyone lives in the Hastings area and can call the local newspaper, they might put us in contact. It would be helpful to know that more than a handful of people would make some kind of contribution, otherwise we'll end up with egg on our collective face. But count me in.

Its the Hastings and St Leonards Observer, but their news archives have no record of the incident. Clearly they didnt consider it newsworthy.

I just spoke to Sussex police who were a bit more helpful. My email addy and AN's address have been passed to a PC Grant who is the contact officer for this case. Either she'll contact me or the details will be passed on to the lad involved. Wait and see what happens.

things like this make me feel sick to the stomach.

My sons 14 and spends evey bit of his pocket money birthday money and christmas money on fishing tackle, evey bit he owns he pays for himself, its took him years to bulid up his tackle and to think some *****rs would take it for a fix pisses me off.
