Rough fishing.

Sorry Peter - I missed this post yesterday and can't see photobucket (or similar) pictures from work. Will have a look when I get home.

we have these in the fosse at lincoln.

what would you class as a big one?

5" plus.

Minnows, gudgeon and ruffe are not at all uncommon on the Waveney.

In a short session the other evening I had those three plus dace, chub, roach, perch, tench, rudd, bream. Not exactly rough fishing but I don't suppose one of them was over four inches long!

As mentioned, we did get some into Lake Superior a few years back and I imagine they have spread to the other Great Lakes but not sure if they have managed to get into the river systems or if they did well enough to spread out from there.

I've not ever seen on that I can think of but I have not ever fished in the States with a hook small enough to catch one so they could be here.

Certainly I have some #20 hooks. At least so I am told. The package looks empty to me.

I know it is not proper angling but I think I will continue to consider a #8 as the smallest hook I'm likely to use.
