Wingham Fish-In Sat May 19th to Mon May 21st

Just had Malcolm Harmer on the phone to say on an overnight session he's had 7 or 8 tench so far up to 9-12.

9-12 is a cracking weight early May, especially with this spring being so late. That fish should be a double by the time of the Fiah-In and over 11lbs by early July.

I can't believe I won't be able to get my name down this year. The Wingham fish-in has been the highlight of my fishing season for the last 5 years and would love to have another go at the big tench. Unfortunately I've managed to book a holiday to Greece for the same weekend so won't be able to make it this year :(

if you manage to get selected then I wish you all the best and trust me if you haven't been before you will not be disappointed as wingham is a magical place holding some incredible fish.

Sue and I will be the BBQ on Sunday, we are still on our break from coarse fishing (dare I say it may be permanent), but we are looking forward to meeting up with everyone.

What'ya gettin Mat?

I've been looking at 1.75 TC rods today, even though I can't afford any!

Ordered a drennan series 7 1.5tc avon.

Already have the 1.25 version but thought the Wingham tench might need a little step up :)

Please note that if you've a guaranteed place because you missed out last year you'll still need to book. You can do this by e-mailing me through the web site (link below).

I'm planning to close for bookings on Tuesday morning, probably about 9am.

Steve, just checking, we shouldn't expect anything back from you until after you close the bookings and confirm who has a place?
