Wingham Fish-In Sat May 19th to Mon May 21st

Every applicant for a place is sent a questionnaire. I acknowledge receipt of this on its return. (BTW, I don't seem to have yours Steve).

If you haven't received the questionnaire or had acknowledgement of its receipt please e-mail me via the web site.

Then soon after the bookings are closed I'll let everyone know if they have a place.

After that comes the huge task of working out the swim allocations. Then the weather forecast will probably change and I'll have to start all over again. Oh, joy!

I have to say I am very excited about Wingham this year. I came down with Rik last year but couldnt fish as I wasn't a member of the forum and hadn't applied. Fingers crossed my place stands and I can come down again but this time with my tackle. It looks an awesome place. Sadly me and Rik could only manage one day last year and didnt catch much but he filled me in on what had come out the day after when everyone started catching. Hope to see you there this year.

Ah - there must be problems at my end, I used my work email rather than my personal one. Could be the awful spam filter we have getting trigger happy again.

edit - yes, both your replies sat in the spam trap! I should have thought of that, but I couldn't remember whether in previous years the questionaire went out before or after the places were finalised. I've added you to the allowed senders list (running the IT has some perks) and will fill in the questionaire now. Doh!

Just spoken to Glyn who started yesterday afternoon. He's had 5 tench including a 7-02 male and a 9-14 female.

So another potential double for the Fish-In and 11lbs+ by early July!

I shall not be attending even though I was certain of a place, so someone will be fortunate. I really would loved to have been able to fish but I have something that needs my full attention and cannot afford to waiver. Hopefully next year I will be there. I hope you all have a great time and enjoy fishing such a wonderfull place like Wingham.

Anyone heard from norfolkdipper recently? I sent him a PM as he showed interest in the Wingham Fish-in when he organised a Fish-In on the Fens but have not seen him on the forum since Steve posted this link.

Renrag, have you heard from him or could you ping him an email? The thing with sending a PM is that he will only see it when he logs in and then he will see the thread anyway. Oh well hopefully he will be about at the weekend and see this thread.

Stephen

Just a quick update to tell you that Glyn and Kim fishing 3 rods between them have now had 14 tench in just over a day. This is despite them not fishing the nights as Glyn is still in plaster and can't get up quickly enough to hits runs then. The catch now includes 2 7lb+ males, plus of course the 9-14 female.

And all in a NE wind!

Despite the change to a cold NE wind Wingham is really producing!

Colin Allchin of the Tenchfishers started his first trip to the water yesterday afternoon and has already had 10 tench to a new PB of 9-04.

And he's also just had an 18-02 bream!

It's really hotting up for the Fish-in!
