The governmentS have brought this on themselves - can you remember a tax that was called "ROAD TAX"? Now that they snaffled that - they haven't got enough money to fix our, frankly appalling, roads!

Why don't they start again and give motorists a square deal, or as square as any govenment would give. Don't forget, they have the cyclists and disability power chairs and scooters to pick on!

Hello little brother, it's as if you had never been away.

Road Tax as you call it hasn't had anything to do with roads since 1936.

I would agree that your roads are appalling. That's because no-one wants to spend any money on them.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Blimey. where's you bin. :D

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I'm afraid I don't remember "road tax", as I wasn't driving when it was abolished in 1937. We have Vehicle Excise Duty, which one might imagine could be used to help maintain the road network, but that just goes into the pot for wars and social security and everything else. A lot of road maintenance is supposed to be funded by council tax, but they seem to give things like that a low priority.

The councils pay out more in compensation than it would take to permanently fix the problem. As it is, all they do is patch which we all know lasts until the next bad winter.

On my local road, which has remained unchanged for over a year, there are 37 potholes in a 1/4 mile stretch of road with some over 18 inches wide and up to 5 inches deep.

Complaints have remained unanswered.

Still I suppose it slows everyone down much like an unofficial speed ramp, inverted.

I don't understand why the British public can't get their head round the fact that with very few exceptions NONE of the taxes that we pay are hypothecated including NI, VED and Fuel Duty.

Because it seems like a reasonable thing to do, I suppose. Politicians and civil servants hate hypothecation because it's transparent and it exposes what things cost.

and transparency is bad when it shows where a great deal of money disappears to in bribes ,they talk of overseas aid in reality its bribes and when they show leniency with foreign companies tax bill it means bribes and when the government "help" foreign companies set up here it means bribes and ofcourse theres the "incentives" they give each other for the slightest excuse.

i expect 25%? of tax just fritters away to bank accounts of the already rich

do we need embassies ,no! just add a line to the passport thats says "if you leave our shores your on your own" and half the reason for embassies has gone ,the other half is giving feasts to foreigners and despots ,get rid of embassies and spend it on medical research and do something with the money
