All old Mitchells are rubbish, I'll give you 50p/ton...maybe £1.00/ton for 302/402s B)

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Worms,

You're just jealous because the "frogs" made the good ones. Mitchell reels do both, catch fish are are collectors treasures.

The did rely heavily of the name for a number of years after the 300 - didn't they?

I was joking Phone, I've got loads of Mitchells, all modded with carbon drags...the only thing the Frogs ever got right...

I like an old Mitchell, particualrly the diminutive 408, 409, and CAP 308 - they wind in the correct direction. I like a 300, and a 410 but don't use fixed spool often, and find the bale going round the 'wrong' way quite disconcerting. Bomb proof though.

Do you have a source for the carbon drag washers, Worms?

Yep, I get them from these guys. I have had to 'tune' a few by boring out internal diameters but all of my 300s, 410s and my 302 are now fully equipped with carbon drags. Very powerful and very smooth!

Look under carbontex drag washers!
