What's the weed situation like at the moment? I haven't been down there yet this year, I suspect it may be coming up now?

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

There's dead weed in many swims and just the beginnings of new growth so far. I've never known everything so far behind since I created Wingham!

Anderoo- As said still a few inches of dead weed with the new just starting to show.

Phone - In the UK (or anyhere that I know of) eels arent targeted with artificial baits or lures but are ocaisionally caught on them! Most unusual occaision I know of/have seen was when John Wilson took one on a SURFACE LURE! during one of his programmes whilst fishing on a river.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Is anyone fishing Wingham for the first time?

One new guest, Addicted to Scopex's brother, plus a few who've been only once. This includes 2 from the eel Fish-In last month who've joined AN. They fished in -6C with ice in the margins!

The other potential new guest is Viney if he takes up Rusty's kind offer. I can certainly make the room.

Yeah it will be my first time. Thank you very much Steve for letting me come. I am looking forward to it a lot.

I don't think anyone has fished for them recently, Leon! And as you know hardly anyone uses worm at Wingham. Not only is it the best bait for the perch at Wingham, the tench love it too.

I had intended to fish for the perch this spring myself but managed just a 2 nighter with working during the day.

After a bit of soul searching I have taken up an offer to go Fly Fishing that weekend. I have a big decision to make as to whether I go coarse fishing again! Maybe it’s time I sell up and spend yet more with Orvis.
