I need to protect a couple of plastic metal detecting items from abrasion from using in the dirt.

The yank detecting forums recomend bed liner which is a hard wearing paint used on their pick up trucks ,now in america i have no doubt its available everywhere but unless you want to spend £50 a tin here you dont get much choice.

Now i just want a little amount anyone know where i can get some or know anyone that could spare an egg cup full, thanks

Chesters1,

Animal barns usually have an egg cup of bedliner to spare. (the spray on kind). Over here at least, they put on the floor of animal trailers for hauling them about as it also comes with a roughened surface. Helps with standing stability. Any chance?

Edit: BTW with the spray kind an egg cup is a full can (well, darn near!)

I just cant find it in s.all enough quantities Phone ,for concrete you could use concrete paint which would do the job but i doubt it would stick to plastic long ,some boaties use gritted cemtex on the floors of their boats but its only available in big tins ,i just need to coat a 12 inch by 1 inch ring and a 6 inch by 1inch probe,

The bed, iner looks good but i just cannot find it cheap enough to be worth doing

Plasti dip may do but it rubs off

Well i got an answer to a uk division of an american company that sells what i want and it turns out the EU forbids me to buy it

Sorry to hear that Chesters since as you say, the bed liner material would be perfect. I just had the bed of my new-to-me used truck sprayed at a cost of $350.

Hmm gives me a brilliant idea i have a fiberglazs kit in the shed ,i can dip it in the resin, thanks all problem solved

Whats its for is to slow the wear on a probe and skidplate ,if it bas a coat of plastic it will last far longer
