Quite right. No one should have to stare down the barrel of a gun. Even if it is a fake.

I have several times and it's not nice even when there are no imminent threats being made.

yup not a problem, even the police got away with shooting dead someone for carrying a chair leg thinking it might just be a gun; http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Shot+dead+by+police+...+for+carrying+a+chair+leg%3B+Then+victim+Henry...-a060330225

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Yes, I remember that case. I never diid understand why police guns don't have video cameras that start recording as soon as the safety is disengaged.

Whilst not a home defence, this case may prove an interesting test of Cameron's ideas about reasonable force.

I still wouldn't be suprised to see arrests of the customers that disarmed and restrained the man, just as I wouldn't be suprised to see the CPS push for a manslaughter prosecution.

I await Newt and Phone's gasps.

I think the CPS should pay more attention to the "in the public interest" part of their decision to prosecute or not.

Meanwhile, the police are getting it in the neck for inappropriate use of cautions for repeat and/or violent offenders.

If someone dies while in the process of committing an armed felony then oops, he picked the wrong line of work.

If the person who stops him was also armed, they should receive a bounty (say £50) and double or triple that if they were not armed.

If someone approaches armed LE (law enforcement) officers during a high stress situation, they should be prepared to be hurt and if they are carrying anything that resembles a weapon (a pile pole or chair leg qualifies) they should be prepared to be dead. Innocent civilians need to show at least a modicum of common sense.

I more or less agree with you Newt. The case that Ken and Barry are referring to happened a while ago in London although the link that Barry posted has a few inaccuracies (as with most things on the net). The two officers were originally accused of lying to cover up a cock up and faced murder charges. Eventually though it was proved that the only way the shooting could have occurred was the way officers said it did. The suspect unexpectedly turned towards them pointing what they believed was a sawn off shotgun.

I also agree with Ken though, if they put cameras on armed officers guns, helmets, etc then it would eliminate a lot of the doubt surrounding these incidents.

Gun cameras on aircraft or vehicle mounted guns, OK.

Adding a camera to a personal weapon, bad idea. The only add-on gadgets there should be ones that help the shooter put bullet on target.

Helmet/Shield/Whatever camera, sounds like a good idea.
