Here is a good one.

 

A man who has been disabled since 2000 and has just been passed fit for work last week because his left arm is not crippled.

 

The man cannot walk without pain, cannot sleep without pain, cannot be intimate with his wife without pain, cannot breathe without pain, cannot use his right arm without pain. However, he can use his left arm though and because of this he is deemed inelligable for the new benefit which replaces Incapacity benefit. They even asked him if he needed help finding a job.

 

His examination was conducted by a nurse who falsified information to suit. A nurse who in comparison to the specialists who deal with his care was totally unprofessional in all aspects of the medical review.

 

The man stated he could not walk 10 metres without pain yet it was changed to 100 on the review.

The Nurse stated a lift test was completed, which was an absolute mistruth.

 

The man who I have known all my life is now in a deep depression talking about suicide...

 

So much for a fairer system.

Surely there is a process in place to report this exam and the bogus results.

It isn't one Newt, a woman passed first died 5 weeks later from the condition stated in her case, trouble is its money, the company is paid for results say no more

Shady lot they say they will record everything but fail to do so, if you ask if you can record the assessment they deny it, it's not just your real medical problems but their opinion on the day and without proof on your side if you appeal its difficult to prove what was said.

It will cost the government dearly just in appeals when the real drain is not the disabled but the 2 or 3 million immigrants forbidden to work living on benefits

Unfortunately Newt what is described above is the system! This government brought in changes in the system designed to reduce the claimant count by 75%. There is an appeals procedure which is long and tortuous and even the professionals tremble when working their way through it.

 

Benefits needed reform in this country but the way it has been done is totally stupid.

Of course anyone as disabled as described would satisfy the criteria for Disability Living Allowance and as this is a gateway benefit, they would automaticaly qualify for ESA without being subject to a work capability test.

I suspect that either the gentleman in question has been very poorly advised or he's not nearly as disabled as the story might lead us to believe.

 

The window on DLA is rapidly closing though because from April it will be replaced by PIP - which is going to be assessed by examinations undertaken by another one of those nasty private companies.

I was asessed myslef a while ago and I had thought despie all I may be "fit to work" I was however deeem unfit to work. So happy with that the pay is actually around £4 a week more too!! Howerver my Wife who is actually very similarly disbaled as I am but aslo has (The bone wasting disease??) She just fell and broke her ankle clean through break. And also hassomethng again which I forget the name of but places her in pain at ALL times?? Yuppy Flu?? I thnk it was called at first. AHS to use an invalid scooter to get around and is unabe to walk unaccompanied has been passed fit to work?? And has also been awaiting the doctors report for some 4 monthd despite being promised 4 times it will be sent within the week, Seem thatere ARE people who DO work and are CERTAINLY unfit to do so?

ME?? Well I suppose I can sit or stand for 5 minutes all at one time and use a computer...........Go figure!! I have also been bed bound literallly for the last 15 Months on Morphine!? Then the lateset is a back op I need for a something disc (The same as when your gut pokes through the staomach wall?) But the Specialist Neuosurgeon will not operate because I am "Ignorant" and this si the same person who says he asked for and appointment and arranged an anethatesit for me. But then decided I didn't need one as I could not lie on my back for an MRI scan as I would be IOK lying on my side or Staomach for the scan??!! And HE is a specialist!! Better ignorant telling him he doesn't know his elbow from his ass as he doesn't know how to place a patient for an MRI??!! The Young lady on the recepcionists desks feelings (also mine!!) After realying this info to her. And he had NOT asked for an appointment at all nor nad anyone from his department! And ignored? Two faxes and a letter and numerous telephone calls from my own GP! Shame I don't actually know ANY nasty swear terms in French eh? Because I am pretty sure my doctor used some ;-)

 

NOW thinking perhps we are at least better off in the UK as we WILL be able to understand when someone says F-OFF you english bastrad!!!

Can ATOS be forced to record the assessment, they have replied to mp,s questions its do-able but a welfare site has only heard of 3 people that have had it recorded and several people wanting to record it themselves have had the assessment stopped and on the second one when they started recording the assessment was again stopped and it was reported to department they failed to attend both assessments,in another instant ATOS agreed but insisted the equipment was a professional machine calibrated that morning that is the same as the police use. (how many people own them?)

It's not right that people are subject to an assessment based on whim that they cannot disprove

even the dla home visit you can see the notes although going by experience the report can differ wildly to the notes and even contradicting them in places.

The questionair is so biased a legless blind person with just one finger is fit to work if pressing a button is the job entailed,theres no notice taken of how the person actually gets to this splendid job .

As for the dla receiver indeed they get the form so they are assesed they dont automatically fail therefore qualify as unfit ,or perhaps atos do not know the form filler gets dla until after the form is returned although theres no mention about it on the form nor box to tick ,if so wouldnt it save money just to send the form to those not on dla ? Or perhaps the form is not only for fitness to work but PIP as well?

No idea but the internal guidance regarding audio recording is on page 138 of the PDF (Page 135 of the actual document) here.

 

Looks like there's a fininte number of recording machines available so I would suggest that anyone wanting to use the facility makes the request known in writting well before the examination is due.
