Ebay again

I have bid on two items from the same seller and the auction time runs out in about 24 hours. I recieved a couple of emails from the seller, both timed at 24 hours and 25seconds before the auction time ends.

I have been offered the "second chance" to "buy it now" at my maximum bid. I suspect something fishy going on and if I do nothing will I then be the highest bidder? (assuming no one else bids higher? Or can someone else now "buy it now" .

The "buy it now" prices are the amount I have bid up to.

There was no "buy it now" offer to start with.

The email came from Ebay and does not say that the seller has withdrawn the item, but maybe he/she has.

A buy it now option dissappears as soon as a bid is made. It is more likely the seller has many items and wants you to know you can get them at that price from them rather than you buy off other sellers.
