Urban Foxes

I remember all the arguments a year or so ago about whether it really was a fox responsible for the injuries to a young child in London.

It seems that there now can be little doubt that they do attack, although thankfully on rare occasions.

I have noticed them where i live being more bold, and approaching the communal rubbish bin areas. They still run when you go near though, more worrying here (and dangerous) are the increasing numbers of wild boar that also seem to be losing their fear of humans.

typical labour government at the time going off half cocked with legislation to ban this ban that because something was 'suffering' no thought of the consequence. appart from two fingers to the toffs. Those horrid dogs where doing some good, so at the very least they could have made a provision to control the pest increase within urban areas. Although i hate control on anything that nature puts up. I suppose if a fox bit a polition on the arris more legislation would quickly be in place. Apart from people being bitten, fingers and toes ripped off, ears chewed, there does appear to be a lot more foxes splattered on our roads.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

The hunt never controlled foxes. It is not in their interest to do so and they dislike anyone who effectively exterminates foxes in an area. There is no evidence to suggest that the change to the hunting with dogs laws caused an increase in urban foxes. However I believe it is fair to say there has been an increase in the population of urban foxes over the last 30 years and their boldness.

The more an animal comes across a human the less afraid it will be ,as for attacks by foxes your lucky urban badgers havnt got so numerous or bold although they dont have the attack instinct so much as a fox its more retreat and deal with you if you enter their domain where eyesight isnt a factor.

Wild boar i would love to see but not encounter although i doubt its as big as the slavering monster that attacked me once (it was of nightmarish proportions but a tame version not wild) handy though if you could kill them if they entered your property.

We have bigger problems in the country boy if you enter the field behind us with a dog (or small child) you will have a ton or so of beef flying down the field and it contains no horse at all it isnt after a ride

Rather than controlling foxes numbers hunting controls population ,the week and sick were the first to go leaving the best for repopulation ,you see far more mange in urban foxes than in the countrywide i think probably their first to be killed.

More foxes are dying now than pre hunt farmers had vested interests in keeping them alive in hunting areas than now.after ww1 foxes had to be imported from scotland as they were exterminated by the farmers because the hunts ceased to exist so they were killed wholesale ,if it wasnt for the hunt i doubt you would see so many today

Are urban foxes numbers growing or is it were urbanising more foxes by building more err urbans

I've not read any details, but where was this baby when the fox decided to bite a lump off?

Quote: "The child was left seriously injured after the animal crept into his bedroom in Bromley, southeast London". See here.

A couple of interesting articles, although one is a few years old :

Now this is a real story,

My mother once read a story about a child being attacked by a ferret in their bedrooms once (i had left home by this time)

And from then on had a definitely over the top reaction to then ,no bedroom windows were ever left open even in summer ,even a mention of ferretts got her in a tizzy

It turns out the ferrets were pets cand their cage was in the bedroom but she was so bad you could not reason with her and she died years later with this abnormal fear ,i have even heard on the phone telling the story of hoards of ferrets terrorising the area, all this because of a story in a paper ,strangely it was a bromley paper as well

You have to get inside newspapers heads what headline is best?

Slavering devil fox attacks defenseless child in bedroom or

Frightened fox bites child trying to play with it because it was unfortunate enough to venture into a house
