I'm afraid that I'm a F1 fanatic likewise I will watch all the races live if at all possible. Last year I managed to make a dream come true and went to my first Grand Prix at Silverstone and would love to go to another one. The bloke who walked onm the track was just down the track a little from us. Nutter

The future's looking brighter, though.

Theres 2 new circuits this season, with more to come next year and beyond.

The new engine restrictions, i.e. must last a whole weekend, and the removal of some of the gadgets , are all promising signs.

Plenty of new blood coming into the sport, as well.

There are still problems Johnny Boy, new circuits are designed with constant radius corners, once you've seen one or two... now old Woodcote! that was some corner, ditto old Knickerbrook, Paddock Hill and Dingle dell, and thats just in the UK.

Unless the cars have more bhp than tyres can handle and drivers are allowed to RACE each other I'm afraid its not my cup of tea any longer.

If you want to watch racing machines on the limit, go see the bikers in action, you may even get to see the competing riders face to face, (I realise this is a concept alien to most F1 fans)

Jeepster I too can recall trudging deep into the welsh forests for fleeting glimpses of lancia stratos' and escort mk2's Aaah! I feel nostalgia creeping on...

Our perception of time as an orderly sequence of regular ticks and tocks has no relevance here in the alternative dimension that is fishing....... C.Yates

My cousin's grandson works for Eddie Jordan!

He was with Reynard before that.

Must be good to have an '@jordanformula1.com' Email address eh?

Very expensive sport to go and watch though......but for my birthday a few years back in June (Cancerian That means i shan't have to put that on the other thread ) I was given tickets to go into the British Racing racing facility have breakfast, dinner and watch all the practice sessions.

Really good day out a nice memory.

What you don't seem to notice on the TV though is the amount of noise these cars make when they slow down to go into the pits (I was opposite the pit lane entry) loads of popping and sort of backfiring absolutely deafening and when they accelerate you really do need ear plugs.

It takes longer for the river to get to the sea than it does for a man to make an error.

Although I do watch F1 (must be a masochist) I reckon they are a load of wusses. Try the Moto GP, World or even British Superbikes for real racing. They are all completely barking but are also Gods with it. I ride a quick bike (170mph ish) on sunny Sundays at nowhere near that speed but the difference between such as me and a good club racer is huge, and between a good club racer and a top flight rider, it is colossal. Rear wheel steering at 180mph with only 2 wheels and a power to weight ratio that is greater than an F1 car, awesome in the extreme. No advanced aerodynamics, no traction control or computer assistance and a tyre contact patch the size of the sole of your shoe. If you watch carefully you can even see them lifting the rear wheel off the tarmac under braking.World Superbikes is on BBC 2 this Sunday, watch it then tell me I am wrong.
