Anyone tried the Tiscali broadband service ?

I've signed up for the 3 x faster connection and have had nothing but trouble.

I was fed-up with the dial up connection using Freeserve so thought the Tiscali service was the answer.

First thing, I still need to dial up ????

If I'm lucky I connect - chances are it won't it averages 9 attempts before I connect - some days I just give up.

From day 1 it just shuts dowm - NT authority alert or something - apparently this is due to me being infected with a MS Blast virus ?

I've spent hours on the phone with them intalled and run Fix blast, a patch, etc. and it still happens every now and then.

What's it all about ? I just want to swith on, use the internet and not be bothered with Technical jargon, problems or all the wretched pop-ups!!

Can anyone offer me any help ?

Sorry to hear your having troubles.

Used Tiscali dial-up for several years, wouldnt dream of using them again !

When I went for Broadband, I asked a lot of people their opinions, and used a site called

www.adslguide.org.uk

going into the message boards there, and looking up Tiscali made up my mind NOT to use them.

Sorry this doesnt help you, but your not on your own with it !

If your unhappy with Tiscalli, most of them will allow to to "migrate" this means that you transfer from one isp to another..and this transfer should be seamless also..

You need to get your "CB UK" No from them to start the ball rolling...

I have Freeserve Broadband and have never had any problems with them.

Our recent home relocation (the computer came to), was carried out with a perfect transfer by Freeserve, they even waived the standard "transfer fee", as I was a longstanding customer.

Nothing but praise for them.

I think most Providers seem to neglect their dial up customers.

Whether this is a coincidence, or they want you to transfer to Broadband (if you can), out of frustration.........who knows.
