my daughter was left in the lurch ,her boyfriend upped and left her ,then he bankrupted himself and all the depts fell on her :mad: its tough out there.

At least you`ve had a reply from them!! NTL supply my cable TV and phones. I`ve been trying for 8 weeks to get the free offpeak internet deal? I`m still waiting for a reply!!

i agree abbey are you're best bet, i had the missfortune to go bancrupt some years ago,was thrown out of Brad/Bing bs,went to the abbey and got a current acc with £50 Delta/Visa no probs

well thats decided that then i'll go down & see them in a few minutes

 

I've rang my own bank this morning & according to them i can have a current account, so i asked the bloke i spoke to why i was turned down last time & he said "to be honest all the banks are getting desparate for custom now so you've got more chance".

If your bank can't do you an account i can reccomend THE Halifax SOLO Debit Card Account the bonus is after you get it you can join their internet banking service &administer your account online.

Alan how did you get on?,i work for lloyds tsb ,and yes all the banks are looking for customers,also they are under enourmous pressure from goverment to open accounts for anyone who wants one,so ley us know.cheers big al

I'm actually a member of Lloyds(TSB) so after i made the phone call i mentioned before i went in to see them & the chap i spoke to told me if they turned me down once then i'd be very lucky if they accepted it the second time

 

A couple of the others that have been suggested wanted me to fill in a mountain of paper work & one even said i wasn't the kind of customer they required (i'll remember that the next time i do an armed robbery)

 

I never got round to the Abbey have to try n get down there this week.
