As to the Belgrano...I remember an exclusion zone in which anything entering would be attacked...supposedly anything outside the zone would be safe..the Belgrano was in fact out of the zone and sailing away.

Enemy or not the sinking left a bad taste for many.

Hence the restrained comments in La Nacion making the observation that the action was possibly her most questionable action.

Overall, it looks like there have been less negative comments there than in the UK which is perhaps surprising.

Even the RAF called it a campaign, if it were a war it would be with argentina and no exclusion zone needed ,no belgrano outrage it would have been an enemy ship full stop

I have no problems with her leadership for the british in the EU or the falklands if not for political gain but that's an if and it wasn't as it happened.

My beef is her slaughtering of her own people and to put her in the same bracket as Winston churchill is quite amusing to be honest.

 

 

To her credit though i wonder whether Mr camaron would send a task force now if the bargies invaded...Interesting...I think we have a rowing boat somewhere ?
