Pike Teach In

Got the last of this seasons Pike Teach Ins this comming 5th and 6th March. This will be held at Angling Projects.at Wraysbury and the details are below.

Venue-Angling Projects -Wraysbury

Meet-0900 Saturday

Instruction on the following-

Pike tackle

Rigs

Making traces

Baits

Location

This all takes place in the club house on the banks of the lake. After a light lunch we move on to the lake and start to fish looking at the following-

Bite indication

Striking

Handling

Unhooking

Regardless of the sucsess of the fishing I always have a dead pike (made available from a trout fishery) to allow the demonstration of handling and deep unhooking techniques.

On the Sunday there is the opportunity to fish all day and try and put the theory into practice. Also any more specialist areas that individuals may be interested in can be covered.Over night accomodation and early morning brekfast is available for those who want it.Baits both sea deads and live trout are also avaiable. Not got the tackle?then thats no problem either.

How much does all this cost then? NOTHING!!!! All I ask is for people to make a donation on the day towards the Angling Projects/Second Chance charities. These are run by Les Webber whose facilities and water we will be using. He has been getting kids out fishing for over 25 years now and has recently managed to even get Angling accepted into the schools curriculum! All this is funded by voluntary contributions.

Anyone who wants to attend please let me know ASAP as places are limited.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

BUDGIE:

I thought it was agreed that by catching more than me at the last Wraysbury Teach In you were banned?     to regain the Budgiemeister or the Pikemeister :D

Come on, where are all of those people who asked all of the basic questions about piking. The gear is all first class and there's a bit of tackle DIY thrown in too. This is much more satisfying than asking questions on forums or trying to figure it out from the book. This is a real chance to see first hand how its done and to fish a nice little water as well, with someone who knows exactly what he's talking about ..er that's Budgie not Andrew

If Budgie can get six people together, Peter Waller has agreed to a month long vow of silence. So now you have a real incentive to sign up and save us all from a fate worse than death.

Sorry but it's my daughter's birthday party on Saturday! I'm not having the trouble I once had, unhooking pike safely, thanks to Argyll's rigs. Ta for the e-mail, by the way: I think I'd like half a dozen, with the large hook being around a size 2, 4 or 6... or whatever you recommend.

You meet all kinds of animal on the riverbank.

Excuse me, Gerry how come I did have six runs and four fish (1 fish to Budgie on my tackle - Saving him having a blank day )at the last teach in! And you're saying that I am not good enough ? Well I am really deeply hurt by that remark! Gerry.

Sheer fluke.

Would love to come along - but I'm away next weekend.

Anybody who's even thinking about trying piking should make certain they attend - it really is a gift.

Budgie started me piking. Going with an experienced piker is the only way to start, and few people have as much experience as Budgie !
