Alvin Jones, John Hedger and Lesley Manchester on the microbiology side have all gone. And the lady who took the plant physiology course - god I hated that course!

Aileen Smith? Sadly, she died in 2009, she was quite a laugh!

...without googling it, to be honest I'd have thought it more likely to be tilapia...as a food fish...

You must have almost overlapped with me then - I was an undergrad from '91-'94, a university employee over the summer of '94 and then a full time external PhD student under Bob Wootton from around October '94 to '97. As an external, I had another two supervisors at the FBA/IFE lab on Windermere, so I didn't visit very often. In retrospect, that was a mistake, I ended up rewriting pretty much everything to Bob W's liking...
