3 hours and not a bite...

I was using drilled mini pineapple and squid boilies in conjunction with a method feeder last week and I had 6 fish, largest at 8lb 12oz. Nice clean-looking mirror, which was a surprise, since I was fishing a muddy puddle. The rest of the fish were a bit tatty round the mouth IMO.

I sometimes fish a lasso rig with a method feeder so I can change between a selection of baits throughout the day. You might want to try tying them up yourself. It's pretty easy if you have float stops.

I do think it was a lot to do with the heat because it did pick up little from about 7:30, I think i might try chubbing on the wey If i go fishing again this week because it really is a waste of time at the ponds, thanks for the tips though they will definitely be used again!

You can catch Chub all winter - get those Carp on the surface once it cools down in the evening.

Im going to pick up some new line and a different hook pattern today as the line i have is pretty old, any suggestions in this area would be very welcome :) the fish in the pond go into mid-doubles max most are more in the 5-10lb range. When it comes to the hook pattern i was thinking of getting one withh a wider gape and an angled eye but any advice on that would also be welcome :D

As for hooks, what size, pattern etc. are you using at the moment? what baits do you plan on using?

Line, you can't go wrong with Daiwa sensor, recently got the new Nash line but its awful and comes off in curls already after 3 weeks!
