microsoft updates etc

I receive these on a regular basis and get Important ones ticked to apply, and other that are optional, either from microsoft, or from suppliers of my webcam, cpu, etc. Should I apply these as well, because at the moment I leave them alone

optional ones will be driver updates that have been authenticated by Microsoft as Microsoft Certified: ie they reach a certain standard defined my MS.

if your a bit lazy and don't track down the latest drivers and software updates for your hardware via the manufacturer websites every once in awhile then yes it is wise to use Windows Update to grab the most recent drivers for you.
