This one is considered one of the best. Tokyo’s Ichigaya Fish Center.

And I think this is one one of the worst. They take a couple tons of catfish entrap them in a small area and then they starve them so you can have fun.21cp1.JPG

If fishing gets that bad in the UK I'm either giving up fishing or emigrating --- and it wouldn't be to Japan! Hell - that top 'fishery' could be situated INSIDE pretty much any existing facility in the UK that currently holds an underused swimming pool - 24 / 7 fishing in 'perfect' weather conditions. :doh:

Well spotted John, thats a prime example of what I often go on about :-)

 

I don't see what the issue is, one of those anglers has a whole bank to himself.

 

But must say I certainly am not impressed with the facilities, when I fish in Asia I expect a well built sala and Punkah Wallah. Plus a boy to carry my sun umbrella in case I fancy a stroll up the bank to drop some bait in the margin. Not forgeting a nets men and beer wallah.

 

A small boat and rower is useful in case I just can't be asked to cast in, some times its just as easy to get them to row your baited hook out. It's not good to be to active in all that sun, dont want to over do it.

I noticed it straight away, (you taught me well Obi Wan). Although amongst the things you mention as essential for a good days catching, you failed to mention your need for a personal bottom wiper. An oversight perhaps?

John, there are some things better done by yourself :-)

 

Oddly, I did consider "fishing" one of the sort of places in Phone's pictures in Hong Kong but it was in a shed. Just as a cultural thing, when in Rome etc but I just could not bring my self to try it. But I would never say never and I guess it adds just a little bit more of excitement to collecting the fish for your dinner as oppossed to a trip to the wet market.

I'll go along with that Stephen. Now if only we could persuade the owners of a few overstocked puddles to introduce it.

 

Just think, pond pig pie, pond pig pate, poached pond pig, and pond pig pudding for afters, to name but a few. :thumbs:
