Hi,

I have a new river ( my friend said I can fish there) and I was wondering whether it looks good. I also need to know what sort of rigs are good for this type of fishing. The speed of the river is medium. Should I use bite alarms ( preferred) or what? Just need info on whats up. Here is the stretch of river:

Lots of fish in the Severn, surely.

Ah, it's the Severn at Shrewsbury !

The BAA control the stretch just below this.

 

Yes, there are carp there but you can catch pond pigs in any dirty muddy hole in the ground.

As said, a basic feeder setup or trotting outfit will catch you a few fish.

Lures have great potential in the weirpool too.

Species caught in 2019: Pike. Bream. Tench. Chub. Common Carp. European Eel. Barbel. Bleak. Dace.

Species caught in 2016: Siamese carp. Jullien's golden carp. Striped catfish. Mekong catfish. Amazon red tail catfish. Arapaima. Alligator gar. Rohu. Black Minnow Shark. Roach, Bream, Perch, Ballan Wrasse. Rudd. Common Carp. Pike. Zander. Chub. Bleak.

Species caught in 2015: Brown Trout. Roach. Bream. Terrapin. Eel. Barbel. Pike. Chub.
