Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

As to the firefighters - I think they have a point. Suiting up in turnout gear which is hot and adding an additional 75-100 pound on your back and having to be physically very active (think climbing flights of stairs) is OK if you are fit & 40, possible if you are fit and 50, and pretty well impossible for most when you are 60.

The alternative to retirement at 55 would be to put older firefighters into administrative jobs that probably aren't even needed other than a place to put older firefighters. Not cost effective.

Most of the rest of us can probably be effective at work into our 70s since most companies have a number of positions that aren't physically taxing. The usual retirement ages were set up when lifespans were shorter and good health into your 60s was not that common.

Just wondering?

In Kansas City, a town of 1 million, the older guys rotate to less physical jobs whilst the younger guys take all the risky responsibilities. Sort of like the "military" in that no one who is still a grunt (private) after so long can remain in service. Newt can tell you better but they get mooched out somehow. I.e. I know a guy at coffee who was restricted to operating the truck paraphernalia. Eventually he took early medical retirement based on job discriptions available. He receives slightly less than some (don't know why it's less, but he's always reminding us). Retired at probably 20 stone and was 55 - 60 yr. Sounds generous to me.

I'm with phone on this one, it's a shame having to put out to grass the experience.

My job is very much hands on, keeping up with the youngsters, health wise I can match 'em, bones and joint wise, work related, wearing them out too early, I don't think I will last to my mandatory retirement age. Desk job for me, or five days fishing, two on the job.

When you sign up to a pension scheme that says you will be paid from age 65 and they move that age back after they have been taking your money for 20 years, they are stealing your money.

Phone, unfortunatly it cant work that way here. Firefighters as such do not specilise. Yes some do have the extra trianing to operate specialist appliances ie Hydraulic platforms and turntable ladders

Non operational jobs do exist but there in a small minority, and may only consist of up to a dozen posts, that is of course unless they have been reclassified and are now done by civilian staff. (Cheaper wages) Fire prevention requires a high degree of training with a minimum of 6 weeks spelised training. Depending on the Fire Authority the numbers of staff may only be 20/30. Even these jobs are now being filled by civillians.

Take it from me the strain put on a 48/50 yr old FF is horrendus. I'm a third generation FF my GF diedof a massive heart attck, my father has had several and by pass surgery. Me I've had 1 heart attack and quintuple by pass surgery. To top that I also suffer from COPD I've been on anti depressants with 1 failed suicide bid

Grumpy,

You certainly may, and probably are, right - far be it from me to have a clue.

Ken,

What a ridiculous statement. Let the man who earned ALL his wages cast the first stone. How about the other way around? Suppose you agreed to certain wages and benefits in 1970 - retirement at age 65 and now certain segments should be retired at age 60. (By their own admission many workers can no longer do the job of a 25 yr old.)

As an employer I can't tell you how many guys I "carried" 2 to 5 years into retirement - usually because I liked them and their families. When the money was/is no longer there I hear chit like you are spewing. Where do you think money comes from?? Ohh, I never pretended to say I wouldn't take care of myself and family first. I'm sure you buy products from subsidised nations. Isn't that a problem too? Sales figures indicate workers don't care as long as it's cheapest. (Take a look at the angling manufacturing industry).

Management NEVER considers "benefits" as an asset ALWAYS a liability. Workers want the cash up front - then when benefit time comes (whatever benefit that may be) it's never enough. Few workers have social reponsibilities and most can't rub 2 quid together the day before payday. Wages is about the 25th positive motivational key to production .
