All,

The thread was fun but has run its coarse. Looks like we're still all part of the tail chasing the dog. When I was born public sector "pensions" represented .02% if the gdp. Today - they are 6.6% of the gdp (and rising). Forget private sector for the moment. Today 89.3% of public sector employees are covered by a "fixed benefit" plan. Guess the politicans know best?

Pretty sure no one changed their mind - and - even more sure no one was right.

Tackle packed ready for an early start tomorrow - the trip coincides with the promise of a cold front bringing rain, which is usually good for this particular venue. A decent fish? or a wet shirt ? or both ? or neither ?

Did you not notice that k<0 is the outcome of your minus sign?

Of course I noticed, as I explained in post 61.

This is the third time you have demonstrated you cannot understand a (very) simple inequality, so your credibility as someone who understands the complexities of pensions is diminishing with each such post. The usual advice when in a hole is to stop digging.

I and others have explained the concept in English, with which you disagreed. You asked for a mathematical explanation, which was provided - and your posts indicate you don't understand it ! Clearly there is not much point in re-treading the same ground.

Some posts removed. If the problem continues, I'll remove the poster but hopefully can leave the topic running.
