Zander fishing

Recommended Posts

I have one, I've had it for a while, but I've never got round to getting the licence and fishing from it.

I'm thinking of getting it sorted for the winter perching!

Rich think that it`s cheap to register after September for the rest of the year or at least it always used to be ,if you can get away without an engine ie row the thing then think you negate the need for 3rtd party liability 3 mill cover insurance ....if not craftinsure have proved cheapest for moi .

We are not putting it back it is a lump now put that curry down and go and get the scales

have I told you abouit the cruise control on my Volvo ,,,,,,,bla bla bla Barder rod has it come yet?? and don`t even start me on Chris Lythe :bleh::icecream:

Overall a good day, weather mostly good except for one enormous but quite short storm, plenty of action from the zander and lots of fun, despite the handicap of no echo sounder. Lost the drogue at the end of the day which is annoying, tired and lack of concentration to blame. Have to try to get another before Friday...!

Will put some pics up tomorrow. Despite being small they were in a very aggressive mood today, the bigger the lure and the more exaggeration the action, the harder they hit it.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Sounds good fun, I'll have to persuade JV44 that him rowing a boat about all day is a good idea. How do you lose a drogue?

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

Petrol outboard Rusty, no rowing involved :)

If you and Steve want to come along I'm sure we could arrange that.

You lose a drogue by not fastening it properly to the boat in high winds, and then failing to catch it with frantic casts of a jig as you watch it sail off and sink to the depths

Don't tell him that, I'll magically produce the outboard when it's my turn to 'row'. I'm sure we'd be up for that, something different and I've never caught a zander.

It's weekdays only and lures only til October, then the weekends are also available and you can also bait fish if you like. (Lure fishing is way more fun though :) )

A few random pics below, including a couple of 'eyes bigger than belly' ones

Wow, they really did like those big lures didn't they?!?!!

What is that lure anyway? it looks like some of your old nicker elastic with a ping pong ball :bigemo_harabe_net-163::D:D

Some nice shots Andrew, it is remarkable how small some fish are that have a go at those eel lures.

Do you ever pick up any Perch while fishing the ressies for Zander?
