Firefox question

Those of you using Firefox will probably be aware of the "Rapid Release Calendar" which has been rolling out regular updates to Firefox - a new version every six weeks was the original aim, I don't know if they have stuck to that or not but I think the latest version in use is No. 26.

I'm still on Version 7.01, I last updated it about two years ago and always resisted installing the latest version too soon even when the changes were less frequent, (mainly because my add-ons can stop working until they too have been updated).

I'm having a problem with one website and they have suggested it may be because my Firefox is out of date, although it works just fine everywhere else.

Is anyone here allowing all the updates for Firefox as they are available and do your add-ons work with the latest versions?

I should have even more problems as I am using nightly (a 64bit development build) which updates as you may guess, nightly. Had one issue with one add-on about 18 months back. Currently on 26.0a1 (2013-08-15)

and just realised I was hopelessly out of date now 26.0a1 (2013-09-09)

I'm using 23.0.1 but it may not have updated recently since most days I only open Chrome. I've lost an occasional add-on with the updates but nothing I couldn't live without and the really useful ones are updated pretty regularly so you can normally get a working version within a day or so of the FF update.

Thanks Nick and Newt, I'm staying with 7 for a bit longer I think - I've got one add-on which shows me the compatibility of my other add-ons and there's only one which is up to date @ 26, the others vary from 23 back to 16 - one of those is Adblock Plus which I definitely don't want to be without.

I may just try another browser for the one website I'm having trouble with, thanks again.

I expect they're confusing themselves too Newt.

I use a PC a lot , (but probably not to anything like it's capabilities), I want a browser that works, Firefox has always made a decent job of that, once it works why can't they just leave it alone? :wallbash:

You can set your browser to automatically update whenever they release a new version (about 1 every 6 weeks for the past year or so) and never even notice the updates unless one of your add-ons stops working.
