That says it all really. So much for the "I'm on my rods in seconds", that's often quoted.

Good job I say.About 2 months ago I went for a walk over Hayling lake in little Paxton,to cut a long story short,i came across a bivvie etc.3 rods with lines still in the water,no one about,i stood in that swim for HALF hour,before he came back,Oh and there was a dead swan 50yds away,WONDER why

I have a rule at Wingham that all runs must be hit within 10 seconds. This is my single most rigid rule and, except in a genuine emergency, no quarter is given. Indeed, 3 members have lost their season tickets for breaking this rule - a very expensive lesson for them!

 

However to put this into perspective that's over 21 years.

 

Having said that I understand leaving rods unattended is quite common on some waters.
