LOL there wasn’t an old lady who swallowed a fly; amongst the menagerie?

Tony

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

The most famous sheep in these parts was 'Tupper' the ram, at Dunsforth.

Many an unsuspecting angler was sent flying by a sneak attack from behind

With a name like that, they ought to consider themselves lucky that that was the worst that happened to them.

No Tony, they ran the pub 'The Angel' down the road. :D

They were two sisters, both seemed to be in their 80s, it took them ages to pull a pint 'cos they needed a rest after pulling the first half.

The flies, (and there were plenty) were usually residing on the sandwiches that they had for sale on the bar.

We were in one day, and one sister came up to my mate, (a big 20 stone lump) and said, "You look like a big strong fella, would you give us a hand upstairs in the bedroom". :o

After much cajoling from us he agreed, and went with them both upstairs. About 10 mins later he came down looking shocked and sweating. You can imagine the comments from us as he sat down to drink his 'free' pint for services rendered. :D

He eventually told us the tale.

They had taken him to the back bedroom, which they had redecorated. They then asked him to lift their MOTHER :o from her temporary room into the newly decorated one. He said she was well into the 100s and he was afraid he might break her!

We used to miss out the bit with the mother when we told anyone about it.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
