steering group, cefas 2012

Recommended Posts

The aims:

Steering group role

To gain a common understanding of the goals of Sea Angling 2012 and ensure that these are communicated in an open and transparent way to the wider community of anglers, scientists and policy makers.

To work together to ensure that Sea Angling 2012 is widely recognised by the angling community and to provide advice that enables the project to deliver a significant contribution to the evidence base on sea angling.

To provide advice that ensures the design and implementation of the surveys is appropriate for providing credible information on recreational sea angling catches and economic value in England.

To provide advice on how to communicate the project through the angling media, and ensure that all members of the group have access to communications including any proposed release dates.

To review progress during the project, and identify and resolve key issues related to:

  • engagement of the angling community and incentives for anglers to participate
  • survey design and sampling
  • communicating with the wider angling community
  • reporting of outputs from the project.

To provide input into the project reports, and agree the means by which the data and other outputs of the project can be made freely available.

I understand that following the last meeting this is now coming to a close. However, there is no information at all coming from the angling groups involved what so ever. There is gossip on the net that defra is to launch management ideas based on this survey for the rsa next month. This is not what the survey was about, further, one of the orgs, the trust went to the meetings on the proviso that they would listen and take back the information for their members. Now it appears that there is a meeting set up for the selected few to move this survey forward to a whole new management plan for the rsa without any mandate what so ever. I understand that cefas will offer a report on this survey in November.

What's going on behind the parapets.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I have copied this from face book, The reason why I have asked Leon the question is that I understand he has provided the information on the net re the forthcoming meeting.

how about kent and Essex sharing information re the 2012 meeting next month Leon. According to the fundamental principle laid down within 2012, the steering attendees were obligated to create a pathway and inform the very people whom any future management decided will affect, the rsa, what about it, or are you the trust, bass and co going to carry on hiding behind the parapet while manipulating the future of angling. Both mr Norseman and mr mitchell attended most if not all meetings yet there is not one piece of information put out by the same guys or the organisations they represent for their members or the wider rsa. It also mentions openness and transparency as a key ethos. Sanitation and secrecy does not get a mention. The trust does not have a mandate from the rsa to arrange rsa management linked to 2012 as I further understand they went to the meetings to report back to their members, nothing is on the trusts web site whatsoever, now there is gossip that few invited guests will attend a launch meeting with defra re management for the rsa. This is not good enough, rsa deserve openness at the very least.
