What is this????

Anyone know what species this is? Caught it in a small river on a single maggot.

 

It's not a gudgeon, ruffe or stickleback (had been told it's them by other people :rolleyes: )

 

I've never seen anything like it before

I'd go with a Bullhead too, not very common I haven't seen one for years. They used to be loads on the Tees & it's tributaries but they've done a real disappearing act.

 

Mind, I'd have to say looking at the pic it looks a decidely big one.

ajay and stevep you make me feel like im realy old and im only 20, i remember jumpers for goal posts stealing sand from the play grounds for lines and i loved the jubblies, black current. dont even think they do jubblies anymore atleast i havnt seen one in years

What is the size of the shot in the photo? It might help us get idea of the size of the fish? BB? Swan shot? 12?
