The wife had me putting more stuff up in the loft yesterday.

Not sure we will have a roof if this doesn't play nicely. :(

I was in ours rebaiting and resetting the dozen or so mouse traps we have up there ,i also filled a steel box with some of the more tasty mouse wise bits and bobs we have up there ,having lots of steel boxes is good for keeping mickeys teeth out of action ,most of my rod collection is in a mouse proof 6ft changing room locker .

As for the wind let it come

End shed has been winterised and tent canvases in their steel box with moisture absorbing doodas and 3 mouse traps ,middle shed almost done just needs a tidy,my shed a tip as usual but if mice can eat tools then their welcome to them

Dont forget folks tins of paint and varnish do not like frost so winterise your sheds ,i put our paint in doors and my mirriad of spray cans sit in two cool boxes ,what keeps the heat out keeps the cold at bay as well

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

I'll buy fresh paint if I have to - won't be for a long time though. :D

All my ceramic glazes have to come indoors when the frost threatens though - it's probably dearer than paint, not to mention the time involved mixing and sieving.

The met office have hedged their bets on this one.

They say storm is predicted to cross North Midlands yet here on Suffolk coast 86mph gusts are predicted at crane height!

The shipping industry has known its on its way for a few days.

Just about every vessel heading towards Europe have had etas put back two or three days.

The strange thing is the vessels from the far east are already late after taking batterings from a typoon or two!

I am glad my extension is complete but will battern down the hatches tomorrow, put away garden furniture etc, bring the pets inside and pick as many pears as possible!

Amber warnings now in place for the whole South of England.

I blame Newt and his tropical storms crossing the pond theory!

Must get sea kit ready for when it calms down!

I don't see why we should get to have all the fun. :D :D

Lots of wind then rain isn't so bad but lots of rain to loosen the soil and lubricate tree roots followed by strong winds can be a real mess.

Down here in the South where the winds are expected to be highest, we have had plenty of rain in the last couple of weeks with more to come before the storm arrives.
