Carp Rods

Fishinguy,

Don't be led down the "specific rod for specific species" road. Almost any rod and reel "combo" will handle carp. Then - - - when you're convinced you want to continue your persute of fishing you will be plenty knowledgable about "specialist" gear.

I brought one of these for my brother last year and am thinking of getting a pair myself, really lovely rods from a great manufacturer and at reasonable price too.

I'm sure you'll get some recommendations if you let us know:

- how big are the carp you'll be fishing for

- how big are the waters you'll be fishing

- how snaggy are they

- how far will you need to cast

- what weights will you usually be casting

Depending on the answers the best rod might well be a 1.5lb tc 'barbel' rod...

These TF Gear Banshee rods fit the bill and are just £25.99 each.

You cant go wrong at that price, excellent value in my opinion.

Good luck whatever you choose.

Regards

Mike
