Seems to work now.

 

Did the obvious 1st step - upgraded to latest version of the board software. I hadn't done it before, as all the 'benefits' of the upgrade were for admin, not users, and I was happy with it as it was.

Yup Elton. The update made changes.

 

Now rather than seeing pics on pages 2-whatever and not being able to select them, a click on 'next' to go to page 2 gives me a forum window with threads after it forces me to log in again.

Well, home and no firewall and I could get to the pics past page 1 and, unlike before, can even pick an avatar on a page other than page 1.
