Short cuts.

Cranfield

Recommended Posts

I often see posts where reference will be made to a website, but instead of posting the whole address, a short word like, "here", is used.

Newts Redneck Christmas card is a good example.

How do you post a shortcut to a website address, please ?

Easy enough to do but tough to post here without the forum software 'translating' everything. I'll put in an example but with spaces to avoid that. You just need to do the same but without the spaces.

[ u r l =

signals the forum that the following is a URL.

[ u r l = h t t p : / / some-site . com ]

signals the end of the URL part

after the ] you can put in whatever words you want and then when finished

[ / u r l ]

So that if I put in (minus the spaces)

[ u r l = h t t p : / / w w w . a n g l e r s n e t . c o . u k ] Elton's Place [ / u r l ]

it will show up like

Elton's Place

To add to Newts comments, when you reply or start a new thread, look to the left of the box you are typing in and you will see..."UBB Code™ is enabled." click that link and it will give you the same as what Newt has described, and a few other posting helpers.
