Here is what the new pc is:-

 

Gigabyte 8S648-L Pentium 4 ATX board

Intel Pentium 4 2.66 512k cache

256mb pc333 ddram major on third

Windows XPHome OEM

64mb Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440

and a Zoom dsl network card to connect to the internet.

Plus all the other stuff like dvd drive,dvd writer etc etc

That's plenty on the new one. How about the old? It will make a difference in setting up a connection between them so you can transfer your stuff.

The old one is about as old as you can get it!

It is a Pentium 2 300Mhz, running on Wndows 98(not SE).

All usual things like cd,mouse and al that as well nothing special.

THe thing now is the little picture of two monitors, in the bottom right hand corner, now has a red cross through it!(say LAN cable unplugged).Also there is now another picture of two monitors( whick says Zoom ppl dsl when I put the mouse over it)

THe only thing that I have installed onto the new one is a internal PCI dsl modem.

And I dont think I have unplugged any cable well I checked anyway.

just checked in device manager and is a realtek fast ethernet nic card. It says it is working properly.
