i see what you are saying newt, but 6 months ago i had my final up date for windows 98, not bad only 6 years after its first release. Alot of things with windows is security flaws not so much about compatibility issues as you was discribing in your text there.

If it was compatablity issues why dosent linux have so many?

So I am a novice am I Pinky? Well if that is the case then I am very happy to be one..

 

I totally rely on MS to do the best for me that they can, and they usually do just that.

 

Ok so they find (or some twisted mind finds) a loophole or security problem....what do MS do??? they offer a free patch.

I have to say that when I read most of the complaints it is mostly from people who are trying to use the basic MS windows and make it fit or work with what they consider a better programme or software.

 

Now as I said, I accept that I am a novice but how come Millions of people world wide manage to run their PC's without any problems, thanks to MS?

 

Stop messing with your pc and rely on MS and you will have no problems!

 

 

Rickster, you should be pleased that MS are still offering updates after 6 years, an awful lot of development has gone on since 1998!!

not using windows is like Mac users saying theve not many games they can buy ,only popular things get support even if there not the best

hi newt,i would but how many games do you see that even mention linux? most just say win95,98.me,2000,xp or similar.

have found a new browser i like though, its called maxthon.

based on ie it seems to be a hybrid of ie and mozilla.like it

windows isnt all bad i just didnt like the push microsoft do it the microsoft way of sp2.

unfortunatly i guess i will have to put it back in the end.
