have you used it

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

I loaded it and tried it after reading this thread since it is a product I was not familiar with.

Note that I run a variety of free anti-spyware products and tend to keep my machine pretty clean.

Results and thoughts

- I got the app from MajorGeeks site and they are usually pretty careful about what they offer for download so a good sign for this application.

- I checked my system for spyware before and after the download/install using both Ad-aware SE (free) and Spybot (free). The Giant software did not bring a load of spyware with it which is a good thing. Some of them will load your system with spyware so they can find problems and convince you to buy.

- They said the scan should take around 5 minutes. Mine took nearly 15 minutes on a reasonably fast PC with 1Gb of memory. That is about what my other anti-spyware apps require so not bad but not as good as they say.

- The scan found one possible problem (see pictures for details) and since a check of that folder indicated the total contents was an install log file (text file, harmless, not spyware, not infected) from an aborted install I'd forgotten about, the actual spyware found was zero.

They offer some good features but they are basically charging $30 for protection you can get for $0 and my gut feeling is that the items I have offer more protection.

I run the following anti-spyware protection:

- passive protection that is loaded and only needs updating once in a while. Baddies are blocked via registry or browser entries so no system load

** Spywareblaster

** IESpyads which is only effective if you use IE since it adds a few thousand baddies to your list of restricted sites.

- Active Protection so stuff you gotta update and run regularly. Weekly for me

** Ad-aware SE Personal Edition and note they do have a paid version with all the features of Giant and a few others but I'm happy with the free one

** Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.3

Given the rapid spread of spyware/malware and the number of new ones that appear daily since unlike virus infections, somebody stands to make money from spyware, I don't think any single product is going to keep you clean. Since good ones are available for free, I see no reason at this point to pay for anti-spyware software.

Note: I run a product called Go-Back that will revert my PC to a previous state (the whole thing and not just the pieces that System Restore does) and as soon as I finish posting this morning, I plan to revert to a time before I loaded the Giant product so all traces will be gone.
