Looks like it ticks all the Boxes Judy:

Reasonable optics & transparancy section.

Simple 'one touch' buttons but software is a little 'clunky'

Can't see if it comes with a USB lead or not (check the box)

its about time decent ocr software came with them ,there just about ok with printed stuff but i wish they were ok on handwriting ,the textbridge software hiccups on non standard stuff such a OHm signs etc and even teaching it to replace the sign with "OHM" it still confuses it

A lead should only cost about a fiver.

PC World tried to charge me 12 quid for one, they lost the sale of a 99 quid printer.

Went next door and got the same printer half price from Comet.

Then went to Maplins 2 minutes down the road for a lead. :D

Since found the same leads for 2.99 at my local Wilkinsons store.

nursejudy:

what does "clunky" mean,

In this context, it means software that works but is not as easy to use as it might be.

I think the expression may have come from trying to walk in boots that are way too large so you tend to clunk along. They will keep your feet dry and prevent damage to the feet from rocks and such but they are not a lot of fun to wear.
