Have a look at the properties of the message. You might find out where they are really coming from.

Sounds like a virus, doesn't it?

i often get messages from other people that appear to come from my address, never worked it out, think its somethinhg to do with the other persons sending profile, certainly not a virus and i dont think its anything to worry about

I've checked the properties already and it gives no clues only a name of a "person" and then my email address in brackets.

It usually concerns little blue pills or some other substance. I'm pretty sure it's not a virus.

I'm pleased [in some respects] it's not just me getting them [Jeepster]. But they are probably coming from some other "being".

Thanks anyway.

I think this is a ploy that Spammers use to try to circumvent any stopper software, you may have installed on your email programme.

I get them all the time, but only on my "public" email address.

Outlook does some weird stuff.

for example, I save an email address of one of my team members :

Bob@bobajob.co.uk

a customer then emails me and the team member but has us saved as bobajob1 and bobajob2

I then go to send an email to bob@bobajob.co.uk

At first when I typed bob outlook preempts all the names starting with bob and his address appears with his full email address.

After receiving the email from the customer if I type bob it does not bring up his full email address but whatever the customer has his name saved as!!!!!!!!!

It drives me mad

Ps bob@bobajob is made up!!!!!!!

Was getting spammed out of sight up to a few days ago by both 'medical' companies with the usual range of performance enhancing pills and also a US share tipping newsletter which accounts for about 30-35 emails per day alone. All purporting to come from different people but exactly the same newsletter and with no immediate way of getting myself signed off their list. Was also getting more than my fair share of the messages that Davey gets too.

We've had this conversation before on here about how to ensure that they are deleted before gettng into Outlook Express rather than me having to delete each one individually (80 per day total was not uncommon. I deal with it now by using the 'create rule from message' facility in Outlook Express 'tools' This allows me to deal with certain messages which are recognised by key words in the title or body of the message

that you supply. If I tell it to delete without showing, any email with the word 'viagra' or the phrase 'blue chip stocks', thats about 90% of thr crap disappearing before I even see it. If you ask it to delete any email that contains the phrase 'Yahoo account that could not be delivered' or whatever the precise phrase is Davey, it will do exactly that. Wish I'd discovered this facility some time ago. Just blocking emails from named individuals never works for more than five minutes with seasoned spammers, they use hundreds of different names. My way of dealing with it of course means that if anyone genuinely wants to talk to me about viagra or blue chip shares then I won't receive their email but I figure its a small price to pay and I'm hardly missing something of value.

Besides, my viagra supplier uses the code name 'smarties' whenever he needs to contact me

'If you wish to stop future mailings, or if you feel you have been wrongfully placed in our list, please Go Here (-aolmember23423. com/opt1/rm.html-)'

This is what appears on a few of the newsletters but I don't seem to be able to access the webpage to stop future mailings. Anyone have any ideas.
