divx movie downloads

Does anyone know a good valid site to download movies (Divx preferably?)

loads of divx out there, best thing to do is do a search for torrent files (search for the movie name and stick the word torrent on the end) as the sites move around quite a lot. download a piece of software called azureus to manage your downloading and you'll be laughing!

thanks for that jeepster, I am a bit new to this so do you mean type in the film name in google search bar followed by torrent? (I have azureus now)

Try also Limewire, edonkey and winmx.

 

Is azureus any good?

Keep in mind that Limewire and edonkey contain spyware.

thats exactly what i mean mate, avoid limewire and edonkey etc etc, once you have a client (azureus) all you need to do is find them on a search engine, you can do a search on google for 'torrent search engine' which will maybe help

I agree edonkey has spyware. Limewire? I was unable to find any with avg, spybot, spyware blaster, adaware or e squared. Downloads at cnet also claim it to be spy and malware free. I still use edonkey as adaware removed its spys.

 

Jeepster can you explain bit torrent please? my freind keeps going on about it but what is it? Im told it uses sun java??? Is that safe.

doesnt use java at all as far as i know, and if it did , why would that make it unsafe? its a system that breaks files down into the smallest possible pieces, so when you download (leech) from the bittorent network (not a specific network more an ad hoc group of users) you take data from everyone uploading (seeding) so its a very quick way of sharing large files, its been 100% safe and reliable for me so far, and i've downloaded over 40gb in the last 2 months
