Video Editing

I have Ulead MediaStudio Pro ver 5, a great editing system but it does not pick up 1394 devices.

 

When I down load it goes into Windows Movie Editor which is a load of rubbish.

 

Being as it is £89 to upgrade MediaStudio and I need that for fishing trips, is there a program convertor for video files, Win. Mov to AVI or a down load program for 1394 which creates AVI files.

i'm sure i've got one somewhere, i have a lot of video editing and conversion software. when you say 1394 devices, do you mean firewire? i should probably know that, but my brain is currently otherwsie occupied!

Yes firewire. The stupid thing is when I first purchased my sony dcr-trv9e it would have cost £600 for a firewire board and lead. Now less than twenty pounds. So for the first time I can down load without loosing frames on top quality but now I am unable to edit.

i know i'll have something help you, part of my job is doing rough cuts of videos on locations and i've been amasaing a huge pile of software to make sure i can work with any file type or device type. leave it with me and i'll let you know
