Can Win XP read a drive formatted and used on a Win 98 machine?

Thanks in advance.

Your answer seems to imply that it probably won't recognise the drive, is that what you meant?

if the drive has been set up as a slave (both on the drives jumpers and seen as a drive at bootup) then xp will read it ,if xp doesent see it then the drive (the 98 one) may have a drive letter assigned to it that is the same as the xp drive and xp wont see it untill its given a unique drive letter.
