Christmas fishing

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any sessions planned over the festive period?

If so what venues, methods, species and baits?

I was hoping for a Christmas dangle on Friday but weather for East Anglia is looking very windy.

Infact its looking windy / rain every day until New year except Sunday where there may be a window of calm weather.

I am hoping conditions are right to give the whip/pole, liquidised bread / bread punch a go on a stillwater for the Roach, fingers crossed. If all fails it will have to be sega bass fishing on the Wii :nerd:

My rivers are the colour of tea and bordering on flooding, so no fishing for me sadly. I was hoping to get some more chubbing in or some roach fishing but there's no point just yet. A big storm is now blowing in too so I think things will get worse before they get better... I'm glad now I got those few chub sessions in when I did.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Yeah and if it hadn't been for today's forecast I wouldn't have even been on the bank - still we both managed a couple of chub - and I even snaffled a jack out of his swim (on lobs) after he left!

All,

Are you guys looking at Leon's "wind" thread?? You nuts or is Leon's thingy bogus?

Phone

Oh it's definitely not bogus - biggest gust locally is 38.9mph so far....

I have plans for this Friday on the Liverpool Leeds canal spinning , weather isn't too nice but I just like to get out , little rain won't bother me depending on wind conditions I'll still be fishing using a few new lures to test out and hopefully catch . Failing that I'll have to wait till Saturday and have a few static baits for the full day

I had a pre-christmas trip planed for the Itchen for the weekend just gone, I always like to get a trip in the weekend before Christmas day. I managed a few hours on Saturday morning before conditions forced me to pack in and I retreated back to the hotel. I managed to get a few fish in the short session, the best a Roach at 1.02lb. The water was looking pretty dirty when I packed up with lots of rubbish coming down and the water was visably rising. Not great conditions to be out fishing

Lyndsey called Saturday night as conditions had deteriorated even more and so I abandoned the plan to fish on the Sunday, I think that will be my last fishing for the year. I think I will just enjoy the delights of Christmas for the next few days and wait until atfer New Years for my next outing.
