It looks like the Arctic air mass is going to reach this far. Nothing as brutal as up north but unusual for South Carolina where freezing at night is not too common and a day's high below freezing is very unusual, even in January and February. The temps shown are the day's high | low

Interestingly, there is a forecast for overnight lows of 7C in the everglades on Tuesday night.

The pythons arn't going to like that much.

I watched a great inhabitant obviously of brit stock ,he said if they switched the gas off they would get a little cold!

Not heard of a gas "outage" here through weather ,anyone?

There were in the 70's in the 3 day week though i think?

Trouble is modern houses can be built without chimneys so you cant use trees ,the council refused to remove the liner when they removed the gas fire so were buggered as well ,got calor gas heaters though if gas and leccy fail

A Canadian potter on another forum I use,

 

It's been minus 35 C for more than three weeks One of my studio doors is frozen solid. I managed to get inside the other one, but the the door re-sealed itself. Had to call my wife at work to call my sons at home to whale on the door to get me out. Took a hammer to the edge of the door which is encrusted with ice. The studio is so warm, that when the warm air hits that tiny cold gap, it freezes instantly.
